ABOUT KAREN OSIT
After many years in the corporate world, Rev Karen was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2001, and holds a Masters Degree in Therapeutic Counseling. For 14 years, she served as the Dean of Student Finances at One Spirit Interfaith Seminary. She currently works for the Mental Health Association of Westchester County, facilitating planning sessions and mediations for the Department of Social Services in the foster care division.
In addition, Rev Karen has a full Wedding Ministry, crafting personal ceremonies that touch the heart of each couple and their guests.
Rev Karen often says that her various Ministerial roles bring balance to her life and a smile to her heart.
Rev Karen has been a member of the Hudson Valley Critical Incident Stress Management Team, Disaster Chaplaincy Services of NY, and has been trained as a “First Responder” in Pastoral Crisis Intervention by ICISF-The International Critical Incident Stress Foundation. She worked as a crisis counselor with Project Liberty for two years, counseling the families and victims of the September 11th tragedy. She had the honor of delivering the keynote address at the United Way’s Day of Caring on 9-11-02 and the benediction for the groundbreaking memorial ceremony in Westchester County on 9-11-03.
